MB&F Presents The HM8 Can-Am

With every MB&F new timepiece launch, we are always intrigued by what special design feature the brand will come up to, especially when we heard this was going to be a new member in the Horological Machine collection. This new watch is the HM8 Can-Am, in reference to the crazy sport car series of the 70’s in which almost no restrictions existed in terms of engine and/or aerodynamic limitations. This implied that we saw incredible looking cars racing in Canada and America, thus the name, and this is what largely inspired MB&F with the design of this new timepiece.

Furthermore, the HM8 is a kind of combination between the HM3 and its iconic axe looking rotor seen from above the watch’s face and the HM5 and its vertical time reading system. But in comparison with the HM5, this watch offers a much clearer view on its mechanism by having almost removed the upper case. This transparency is achieved by a roll-bar like feature made out of polished titanium on the side and by an extensive use of sapphire which also let’s more light come in the watch. This helps with the overall legibility, even at night as the superluminova found on the hour and minute disks will be better charged up.

This watch comes in two version; a white gold and titanium version, as well as a red gold and titanium version. But probably some of you are thinking: "Wait a minute! Isn't there an HM7 missing???", well you get the answer to this question in our next PRIMETIME show!
