Greubel Forsey New Watches At The 2016 SIHH
Greubel Forsey starts 2016 with a technical evolution of its double inclined escapements concept first introduced in 2009. There is no tourbillon here but instead two regulators positioned with an angle of 30° and connected with a spherical constant differential. This construction integrates in particular two thin springs that are able to make an average of the power variations between the two regulators. This mechanisms softened the transmission of the energy, which improves the chronometry of the watch. The positionning of the two escapements was also specially chosen to deliver the best performances depending on how the watch is worn on the wrist. Only 33 pieces in white gold are going to be produced.
Greubel Forsey also offered to one of its most faithfull watch engineer to create its own watch. The pitch was that he had to respect Greubel Forsey philosophy in terms of design and excellence. Developped and partially produced by Didier Cretin, who also worked for a while with Philippe Dufour, the Signature One has a flat regulator beating at 18'000 beats per hour, the frequency of clocks and also old pocket watches. For the first time, Geneva waves are also present to decorate the movement. Be patient, we will come back to this watch later in the year.
Finally, Greubel Forsey introduces a new interpretation of its Tourbillon 24 seconds Vision launched last year. It comes here with a black dial and a red gold case.
