MB&F M.A.D. Gallery Time Machine With Old Nixie Tubes
Just imagine time being revealed by big bulbs manufactured during the communist era in East Germany. This is the new Nixie Machine that was presented last month at the M.A.D. Gallery in Geneva. The Nixie Machine is a clock that displays the hours, minutes, seconds as well as other functions. It was conceptualized by Franck Buchwald, an artist based in Berlin, well-known for manufacturing lamps with a steam-punk science-fiction design. The project was feasible thanks to a Nixie tubes' passionate, Alberto Schileo, who found a stock of dozen of brand news bulbs in an old storage at the Bulgarian army! Mr. Schileo convinced Max Büsser, the founder of MB&F and the M.A.D. Gallery, and Buchwald, to produce 12 pieces in total. Watch how these gentlemen succeeded in exhibiting time in a spectacular way!
