SSC: 100 Years of Chronometrical Improvement
The Swiss Chronometry Society (SSC) was established in Geneva in 1924 as part of the centenary celebrations for the Geneva Watchmaking School. With a goal to foster the exchange of ideas leading to technical innovations of the highest order, the SSC rapidly became the main platform for building on the exceptional visionary community and boosting creativity not only in the horological sector but also in aerospace, sport, medicine, and other fields.
Every three years, the chairmanship of the SSC is taken on by a different region of Switzerland, leading to the creation of a local office. The Geneva region has started its rotating chairmanship for three pivotal years in 2024, the year of the Society’s 100th anniversary.
