Checking the Dark Side of Your Watch
Welcome to our new video in which we discover a portable microscope, quite useful in a minuscule world of watchmaking, zoom into the intricate mechanism of a skeleton watch of Arnold & Son, check the guilloche dial of Parmigiani Fleurier, and look inside the tourbillon.
We met Yuksel from Microqubic at the EPHJ this summer and invited him to our club to have a field test of his invention with some fantastic Swiss watches. And even though this optical tool initially was not intended to film timepieces, we are happy to share some crazy results you can get with this mechanical toy.
On the technical side, the 3D microscope is compatible with Windows, can do videos with 4 K resolution, and has 7 motors and 4 illumination sources. It weighs 2,5 kg and the base measures 16x28 cm.
