We had the pleasure of talking to Mrs Evelyne Genta a couple of days ago while she was in Geneva promoting the Sotheby's auction that pays tribute to the work of her late husband the star designer Mr Gérald Genta.

Mrs Genta tells us quite a lot of interesting unknown stories around the creation of some main designs of the watch industry.

This will of course include watches such as AP’s Royal Oak, Patek’s Nautilus without forgetting the Polerouter of Universal Genève.

Mrs Genta talks about her husband’s relation with Mr Georges Golay, charismatic CEO of the Audemars Piguet in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and the brief that gave birth to the Royal Oak.

Three auctions will be held for a total of 100 small paintings, including the originals design for the Royal Oak as well as the Nautilus.

They will be held in three different locations, Geneva, Hong Kong and New York.
