Tempus Fugit by Dubuis, Renaud and Tixier
A life timing machine on your wrist!
We are delighted to share with you our video of the day concerning a very special timepiece.
It’s actually much more than a timepiece, it is a philosophical piece, which embodies everything we love about watchmaking; creativity, extreme craftsmanship and full commitment to the art of watchmaking.
This piece is called Tempus Fugit and works like a timer until the time of your trespassing.
This could sound a bit spooky, but it goes way beyond this! In order for the timer function to work, this piece needed a time reference and this led Dominique Renaud to develop an incredible secular calendar module which was then manufactured by Julien Tixier. Actually, Julien manufactured every single component of this piece in his workshop of the Vallée de Joux, including the titanium case.
And a big thanks to Benois Dubuis, the man who had the original idea and then gave the liberty to these two incredible watchmakers to express their talent.
Mechanically speaking, the Tempus Fugit is an amazing achievement considering the time in which it was done. But they didn’t cut any corners when it comes to its decoration, a true piece of art.
And here’s the full interview session held at our Club space, but just to be clear, it’s practically all in French. Enjoy nonetheless!!
