Watchmaking in the News.
Welcome on this new edition PRIMETIME and we have a rather dense edition to share with you; plenty of new products, plenty of business and gossipy things, a serious update on the SIHH/Baselworld saga and a lot to expect in the coming days.
But we also wanted to mention that we’ve added a new book section in our online boutique with books on some iconic brands and watches, but also some more technical ones with for instance the main book used in all Swiss watchmaking schools called the "Theory of Watchmaking" and this one is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Regarding new watches, we’ll start with the surprising first sport steel watch from German brand Lange & Söhne, the Odysseus. Steel sport watches are simply so hot today that it’s kind of rationale business decision to develop such products, but was it done successfully, well this is another matter and obviously open for discussion. Along the same strategy, Chopard is also launching a new sporty collection called the Alpine Eagle, which uses special recycled stainless steel called Lucent Steel. But we will also come back a new movement developed HYT and naturally a couple of other launches, but also some general business considerations like events coming this month.
