The Virtuoso VII Retrograde Perpetual Calendar by Bovet 1822
This year has really been a very fruitful one for Bovet 1822, as you may have seen for instance our other video report on the Recital 18, one of the most spectacular watch we’ve seen so far in 2016.
Today we present the Virtuoso VII Retrograde Perpetual Calendar, which has some rather original features, in particular when it comes to displaying the various calendar and time information This timepiece also comes in the brand’s signature Amadeo case, meaning that this timepiece is pretty versatile as it can be worn as a regular wristwatch, as a pocket watch and ultimately it can be set as a table clock. But the transformation possibilities don’t stop there as you have two sides with distinct functionalities between them.
The Virtuoso VII is based on an evolution of the Virtuoso II caliber introduced by the brand in 2014. One of the main goals behind the development of this caliber was precisely to offer a platform onto which evolution was possible and the Virtuoso VII is really a fine example with the addition of this perpetual calendar.
Usually with perpetual calendars, all the day-date-month-leap year indications are found in the center of the dial’s face and here, it’s quite the opposite, as you will find the minute and hour hand in the center placed above a black lacquered dial and all calendar information are set around it.
