88 Major Steel Chronographs Gathered For A Special Auction
Rare and collectable watches are not always made out of precious metals. For its thematic watch auction of the 14th of May, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo focuses on fine chronographs with steel cases. The chronograph is one of the most complex function in mechanical watchmaking but paradoxically doesn’t always receive the esteem it deserves. Very technical, used in various contexts but often very extreme ones such as exploration, racing, competition or scientific research, chronographs used to be mainly integrated into cases made out of steel.
Aurel Bacs and his team showed some interest for this kind of watch paradox and succeeded in gathering 88 timepieces. It is not the first time Bacs organizes such a thematic watch auction, and the idea seems to please a lot to the watch addicts. Named « Start, stop, reset », this sale is then entirely dedicated to the ancient sport-chic watch style.
