The Geneva Watch Tour allows anyone who is interested in watches and the culture of watchmaking to discover the city’s most relevant places and boutiques by means of an organized visit. It includes surprises such as Passage Malbuisson’s carillon, for instance. Located in a large corridor between two important streets in the city center, every hour it plays a melody using bells as well as a visual treat in the form of an automaton comprising 40 bronze statues coming out from behind a wall. Some unexpected facts are also explained such as the origin of the water fountain. Did you know it was directly related to the industrialization of watch production?

The Geneva Watch Tour also includes many watch boutiques as Calvin’s city has the largest concentration of them worldwide. Temporary exhibitions are also organized from time to time. For instance, a showing of photographs are on display at the Cité du Temps until August 9, 2015. Created by Christian Pfahl, they underscore the presence of the watchmaking industry in the city.
