Jaquet Droz Focuses on Métiers d’Art at Baselworld 2015
For a few years now, the brand hasintegrated one new métier d’art and two new artisans every year. The result of this strategy is clearly visible at Baselworld especially within the boundaries of a brand-new technique: the quail egg shell mosaic, which allows the artisan to create motifs in different shades from yellow to braun. Technically speaking, the Charming Bird, the only watch integrating a singing bird automaton, is now finalized. The power of the volume has also been increased as engineers succeeded in lowering the extraneous noise of the mechanism. In total the delta is of 26 decibels, a real milestone. For ladies, the Lady Eight collection launched last year already debuts a technical animation within its sapphire crystal bubble at 12 o'clock. The Lady Eight Flower presents a flower that blossoms on demand then closes slowly. The most recent version of the Bird Repeater is the Vue des Alpes model, which reproduces the stunning view of the Swiss Alps as seen when crossing the pass going from La Chaux-de-Fonds, where Jaquet-Droz is based, to Neuchâtel.
