For several centuries, the Jürgensen family was known as an experienced maker of intricate and refined mechanisms of the most important pocket watches, marine chronometers, thermometers, and later wristwatches. Passing from one generation to the other, the brand excelled in producing exceptional timepieces up until the 1990s, when it was sold to Heuer. Forty years later, Urban Jürgensen fell under the leadership of another legendary watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, who played a formative role in the development of the brand's wristwatch movements and collections, along with greats like Peter Baumberger and Derek Pratt.

Dr. Helmut Crott, the famous watch expert, reflects on the future of the brand and tells the story of the Danish watchmaker, who moved to the Swiss Alpes to master the subtle art of creating timepieces, as well as his unexpected connection with Adam Johann von Krusenstern, a Russian naval admiral and explorer who led the first Russian circumnavigation of the Earth in 1803–1806.
