In this first episode of our Who's Who of Watchmaking dedicated to brands, we come back on the history of URWERK, one of the most iconic independent watch brand, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. During the video report, you will get to know better its founder, Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, who explain the birth of the brand, what motivated them then at the time and their vision for the future.

URWERK has for sure opened an exciting door when it comes to creative watchmaking in the late 1990’s with its very own reinterpretation of what a timepiece could be, offering something radically different in terms of time display and general design but never the less respecting and taking some of its inspiration from traditional watchmaking in terms of technique and finishing for instance
